What do you have in layout?

What do you mean by :
it happens as soon as I start to play on another midi channel.

You change a channel somewhere in Bidule, on a controller, in Logic or do you mean
focusing to a different track also sending MIDI to Bidule or something else?

Hi Seb

I only have a kontakt brass in A Bidule AU on Midi CH1 and an E-Piano on CH2

as soon as I play anything on CH2 bidule breaks up, almost like a sample rate change.

I have attached the project file to test, very odd problem that I have never experienced before.

By playing anything on CH2, you mean also setting it as the active track or simply sending MIDI
to it whether it is the active track or not?

All I have to do is start playing on track 2 with logic running then switch back to ch 1 with bidule on and the distortion starts.

in fact I dont even have to play, simply playing back recorded midi on Ch1 (bidule) and CH2 Evp causes the problem.

This is what I do :

- Launch Logic with a USB MIDI controller plugged in
- Remove the instrument in K4 inside Bidule for one of the demo content
- Trying playing both the Bidule instance and the Electric Piano with the controller
- Launch playback and switch between activating the two tracks to play either
what is loaded in Kontakt or the EVP

Have you checked with a MIDI Monitor if anything weird gets to Bidule/Kontakt?
If you could send the bidulepluginAULogic Pro.log file (in <your user>/Library/Application Support/Plogue/Bidule)
after a session with the distortion to bidule.support so I can have a look and see if there is any clues in there.

HI Seb

yes I did try a monitor, I could only see CC1 but filtered that out and still had the problem.

anyway I have attached the .log plus a movie file so you see and hear.

hope it helps :-)

What are your audio settings in Logic? (i'm pretty sure this is happening because of a specific sequence of settings and would like to match yours as close as possible)

IIIRC I/O Buffer Size, Process Buffer Range and Low Latency Mode all come together to set a buffer size on a plugin (along with if the track is selected or not)

WOT!!! No explanation? Seb just moved his magic wand and all problems gone. It would be interesting to hear what Seb actually changed and what caused taht Jittering Distortion! (since I'm fighting with CC# zipper noise issues here)
