Retrologue plug-in settings not recalled

Postby orgkeys » Mon Aug 06, 2012 10:47 am

Hi,

I am fairly new to Bidule so I may be missing something. I have already been searching the forum but haven't found a solution for this yet. I am using the latest standalone version of Bidule (0.9724) to host my different VST plug-ins on a PC to use them in my live setup. Normally when loading a layout all the plug-ins recall their settings as they were when I saved the file. However this doesn't seem to work with Steinberg Retrologue (v1.1) which I recently bought. I have first been wondering whether this may be the plug-in but it seems to be working in Cubase (obviously) but also in Studio One. My test is to load the plug-in, load a preset, modify a few parameters, save the layout, respectively save the song in Cubase and Studio One. After re-loading the layout in Bidule Retrologue seems to remember a few settings like the ADSR curve and the preset's name but nothing else. So the sound pretty much is the default saw tooth waveform with the ADSR settings of the preset, but that's it.
I have already been trying the suggestions from this post: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5602 Unfortunately with no luck.
Am I doing anything wrong?

Thanks!

The only difference I can think of between Cubase/Studio One and Bidule would be that Cubase/Studio One is most likely using the VST3 version of Retrologue while Bidule is using the VST2 one. I'll try to see if the Retrologue included in Cubase 6.5 is locked for Cubase only use or not.

Steinberg made Retrologue available for use in other hosts with the release of the 1.1 update as far as I understand. Besides other things they added a preset selector that allows to load the presets, since for Cubase this wasn't necessary as the presets are managed through its MediaBay.

In Studio One I have access to both, a VST2 and a VST3 version of Retrologue. I ran the test again to make sure I was using the VST2 version of it. Everything went fine, meaning I could select a preset, make some changes, save the song and after reloading the song in Studio One Retrologue recalled all settings correctly.

What I discovered in the meantime is that if I open a preset in Retrologue, modify it and then use Retrologue's interal preset handling functionality to store it, all settings get recalled correctly in Bidule as well. Does this mean Retrologue is buggy or am I still doing something wrong in Bidule?

Thanks!
