Snapshot groups for specific well-known games

Hello All,

I was just curious if anyone is working on building their own snapshot collections for specific games, and if so where are the best places to collaborate on such projects? It would be extremely useful to have such a bank of presets in chipsounds--not even for just recreations, but for making new songs as well. For instance I often am thinking things like "I want a sound similar to the percussive intro on the first stage of Double Dragon" etc, and for many such sounds the existing presets take a lot of tweaking. A bank of sounds broken up by chip, and then game, would really help this out. Any thoughts, or willing collaborators?

Hello Keith.

Sounds like a nice idea. I'm sure there are lots of people who have presets they would love to share.
On my end I have several little code utilities that allow me to rip things for various formats, but the process is pretty tedious
(think monk labour), if i had a lifetime I would make an app that allows you to play with them instantaneously, but hey, only one life

Let us think of a web/forum mechanism to do that. We will get back to the topic

Okay sounds cool. I tried searching on sites like 8 bit collective and such, but as far as I can tell there is no central hub for snapshot sharing and organization, so I think this would really be helpful. Let me know if I can assist in any way.
