General Discussion about Plogue Bidule

Postby seb@plogue » Thu Jan 24, 2008 9:36 am

It's all commented out so I can put it in/out whenever I want. I should be able to make a 9603CMDW this morning...

Any chance of a 9602-9603 change-log?
Just curious btw.
I can see why you'd only want to do that at major new versions.

Most of the issues that have come up in the forums since 0.9602 should be fixed.

There has been a few things reworked internally: at the very best you might notice better performance/less glitches in some patches, at the very normal no difference and at the worst a problem.

I could try to do a quick changelog tomorrow.

BTW jersmi: there's a cmd-w 9603 in latest.

no Ctrl+W for Windows... Sad

I don't know if I mentioned it before but one of the reason it's there for OS X is that it was quite easy to do:

- change an OS flag for each window so that they appear in the Window list menu
- add a menu entry saying that cmd-w is the close message
- sit back

Any mode related to MP problem?

Not yet, those are issues I really need to be able to concentrate fully for a few days, the last month (pre-holidays, holidays, pre-NAMM, NAMM) was definitely not a good period for that and add to that that I'll most likely change all the code once I try to make it work with an octo-core machine

For Hansje :

fixes:
- group/layout(manual) save in plugin mode not saving parameter links
- offline mode freezing single-core/cpu machines running Leopard
- Sync Transport not working correctly with Sync To MIDI Clock on pause/restart
- Audio File Player UI slider not directly going back to start on Home
- Linked Audio File Player Play parameter could prevent "slaved" files to finish playing correctly
- dropping bgrp files in the patchbay should add the group, not import its contents in the current layout
- MIDI file recorder when synced starts a bar too late
- Mouse moves sometimes causes unintended selection move
- ReWire device not working with Cubase 4.1
- added disabling of buffer repackaging algorithm on a per-host basis from configuration for the VST version

new:
- some MME/DS drivers should show now show up with multiple channels instead of only stereo

+ stuff you (hopefully) shouldn't notice/have to worry about

Hi Seb,

Thanks a lot for your reply, and the helpful description. This allow users to decide if they load or not the update!

About the MP, I think that the manual assignment should remain as the software don't have the dynamic load knowledge of a plugin, while the user know (usually ;-)) what he is doing).

Another point is, if we think about the graph as a pert network, the critical path will give the propagation delay, and the slack time of the other branch allow ordonancing the threads. The slack time could be calculated using the plugin delay. As an helper, Cubase have a plugin database (vstplugin) which contain informations about plugins informations.

cheers

The PPC only version in the latest directory is 0.96, please use the Universal Binary version which is 0.9650.
