I Don't Understand Re Rewire Midi Ports

Postby metalious » Sun Feb 26, 2012 2:46 pm

Bidule is an amazing program. But there's just something I don't get about it.

Using Bidule as a rewired slave with Cubase 5 on W7 64bit. In cubase, I have all of the rewire midi ports I activated from Bidule.

"Plogue Bidule Device Bus:1 Chn 1" etc.

Presumably, these ports go somewhere in Bidule. No?

And yet I cannot assign them to different instances of Kontakt.

From my reading here, it appears for me to have Cubase route midi tracks to different ports (kontakt instances) in Bidule, I cannot just use the multiple rewire ports that already show up in Cubase, I have to install a virtual midi port device like Loopbe30 and send those to Kontakt.

So what are all those rewire ports for? Am I just missing something, or can I really not use them in Cubase?

Thanks
Dave

These are the MIDI output connectors showing up on the top part of Bidule ReWire in your layout. You'll need to use a MIDI Splitter on Bidule side to get each channel independently.
