Bidule FX AU in Logic 9 vs Ableton

Postby gl1tch » Mon Jun 18, 2012 11:33 pm

I'm trying to get AUs within the Bidule FX AU to sync to the host tempo in Logic but they won't. I'm connecting the outputs to the plugin. This works ok in Ableton. Is there a different process in Logic?

It's not clear from your description if you're actually setting the loaded plug-ins to Sync To Bidule Plugin or not.
Bidule Plugin is the sync source that simply forward sync information from the host.

Hi Seb,

I want to set the bidule plugin as the sync source but in Logic it's not letting me - no sync options are showing as available. Live does show the bidule plugin as a sync source.

That's really weird, Bidule Plugin cannot change its status dynamically about being able to be a sync source or not.

Do you get no Sync dropdown / Sync To contextual menu (and no grey s next to the body) or do you simply get
only None in the dropdown and a greyed out Sync To contextual menu?

If you look at the Bidule status bar, dsp is 0.00% this means that Logic is not currently processing Bidule. Volcano gets the Sync option on its first processing call. Is your Bidule instance on a mute/inactive track?

Thanks, Seb. The track wasn't inactive but I didn't have any regions on it. It seems that Logic effectively unloads it until there's audio to process.
