A cello sample library full of strange, wild and often aggressive sounds. Nineteen different techniques including warm sul tasto sustains, scratchy colle, harmonics recorded with the fingering slipping, and pizzicato performed like a jazz bassist.
Additional simulated cello section and cello-based synthesizer instruments.
Also included are an emulated section of three celli, and a subtractive synthesizer.
An electric guitar usable in a wide range of styles. Includes additional specialized instrument patches for playing arpeggios and strummed chords. Not quite as deep-sampled as the Metal-GTX, but very close.
A deep-sampled guitar meant for heavily distorted music, with extended low range, over 2600 total samples, up to 18 round robins, and adding up to more than a gigabyte of sample data even in compressed FLAC format.
Every drum in this kit is a snare. There's a vintage 14” snare, a deep 13” snare, and a giant 22” snare. Even the kick is a 20” marching band bass drum with two sets of microsnare wires. Sampled with sticks and brushes, including using samples to model brush stir and flutter techniques.
Samples of a Taishogoto, or Nagoya harp, which is a 5-string zither invented in 1912. Various traditional techniques are sampled, and each string can be played separately. There's also a bonus piano-like instrument.
Electric V is a virtual electric piano sampled from an iconic tine electric piano introduced in 1984 in its fifth revision. Pure and simple was the goal. We sampled the instrument straight out of the output at 24 bit 96k for a clean sound that translates well in a mix or on stage. Sampled with a combination of machine precision samples and additional hand samples for up to 27 samples per note, this library aims to capture this one instrument at this one moment in time with all of its imperfections and nuances that modelled electric pianos have difficulty recreating.
Released on April Fool's day and claiming to be bagpipes using a squid for the bag. The true nature of this instrument is a mystery, but it can be played as bagpipes (melody + drone), as a polyphonic Mellotron-like keyboard, or as a subtractive synthesizer.
An old, cheap and very large drum kit with a deep and dirty lo-fi sound. The smallest tom here is the size of the largest tom in a typical jazz kit. Sampled with sticks, brushes and mallets, including brush stirs.
As Dr. Viktor Frankenstein put together the best parts of various humans, Frankensnare builds snares from a wide array of acoustic snare samples, ranging from a tiny 10" snare to a 20" giant, and kick drums making six snares buzz sympathetically at once. Mad science.
A drum kit recorded with 1960s microphone placements. Phase alignment controls allow the microphone signals to be aligned for high fidelity, or spread out for lo-fi dirt.
A bizarre old guitar sampled with the kind of detail usually reserved for popular classic instruments. Over 10000 total samples, it can be used as a 6-string or 12-string, and electric or acoustic. Though made in the 1970s in Poland, it sounds like something from a 60s Italian spy movie.
Bobobo drums from West Africa in five sizes, and a cajon. Additional controls emulate muting on the bobobos, and increase the contrast between the low and high bobobos and the various strike locations on the cajon.
A brushed drum kit that's more indie than jazz. There's also extra percussion: a cajon used as a kick, and brushed djembe, darbouka, bongos and cowbell, plus cracked and broken cymbals.

Also included are staccato, subtone and growl articulations.
On top of that there’s breath and mechanical noises, which were also used to create the Bearcussion instrument, and as with the last few offerings there’s also a subtractive synthesizer made from its samples – the Bearborg.
Here’s Plogue’s offering of the now famous Taijiguy Free Mellotron samples.

Part violin family, part machine. The three String Cyborgs – Zinc, Blackheart and Ironface – use the processed and looped sounds of bowed strings (cello and double bass) as oscillators, and place them in a synthesizer architecture with unison, detune, filters and even some humanization parameters.
Hide your humans!
They are named after the three Roms from Albert Pyun’s movie Omega Doom - vicious, very advanced and even more fashionable killer droids. The sound is basically a very organic version of a virtual analog synthesizer. They are capable of many kinds of basses, from plucks to wobbles, as well as drones, pads, organs, evolving textures, various kinds of leads and of course string sounds.
After the sfz mapping roaming the ‘net for some time, here is a version with a proper GUI with some spiffing controls for all the kit pieces / buses. That’s right, it has a one stop for all controls right there in Sforzando.

There are also muted plucks and note release noises with five round robins, and percussive samples with four round robins.Although archtop guitars are usually associated with jazz, the sounds here can actually get quite bright and aggressive if needed, especially with the microphone signal blended in.
